Paulien Long and Una Fahey are Australian volunteers who have worked closely with Putu (local Physio) and our staff to increase their skills and awareness of Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy issues. Paulien has been very successful in transferring her knowledge in Occupational Therapy to YAKKUM Bali staff over the past three years and Una has been successful in transferring her knowledge in Physiotherapy and anatomy training to YAKKUM Bali staff over the past year. Since March 2009, Jenny Van Opdorp (Holland) from VSO effectively started assisting YAKKUM Bali to work as Job Finding Adviser and she will continue working with YAKKUM Bali for 2 years. These workers are volunteers but require management and support resources, in addition to down time of staff while they are being trained. The trade off is that we receive increased capacity.
