Many of the people who lose their legs are children (born with a daibled limb) or teenagers (motorbike accidents). When they get a protheses or brace, they have to learn how to walk all over again. In 2008, a volunteer physiotherapist from Australia, Una Fahey, came to work for 18 months with YAKKUM BALI to transfer her knowledge and skills to the local staff. In 2009, a Balinese physiotherapist, Putu Warjita was hired and he has been working with Una and Paulien Long, an Australian occupational therapist who has been volunteering with YAKKUM for nearly three years.
