Rehabilitation Centre

Yakeba established Bali’s first drug rehabilitation centre in 2000. The centre was closed in 2005 due to a lack of funding. During its operation, Yakeba helped more than 200 drug addicts achieve “sobriety” ~ i.e. live a life free of drugs and alcohol.

Yakeba opened a new 6-bed drug rehabilitation centre – called Mawar Biru – in January 2009 with funding from YKIP/ALF. Many recovered addicts now live normal lives and many are to be found working in non-government organizations across Indonesia.

To date, the centre has helped 13 drug addicts on their journey to recovery; and some of them have been able to remain “clean” and are living normal lives.

Objectives

To continue to help young Indonesians on the road to a drug-free recovery through the Mawar Biru Rehab Centre

How Objectives Will Be Met

  2. Train the residents in matters related to relapse prevention.
  3. Provide drug addiction counseling.
  4. Provide support (both addiction counseling and by using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) both during and after residence.
  5. Help the residents attain some job skills such as making handicrafts and using a computer.
  6. Provide basic cooking skills which will enable residents to take care of themselves after release.
