YAKEBA (Yayasan Kesehatan Bali/Bali Health Foundation) is a Balinese charity providing treatment and education to people living with, or at risk from, drugs, alcohol and HIV/AIDS.

Giving help from experience

Yakeba was founded in 1999 by recovered alcoholic Bob Monkhouse. Yakeba believed people who have lived with drug or alcohol problems or HIV/AIDS are the ones most able to help fellow sufferers.

YAKEBA just recently celebrated its’ tenth year of operation (2009). Sadly in November of 2009, the founder and motivator of YAKEBA, Bob Monkhouse, passed away. His spirit still lives on and the program goals will continue to be met by the staff and the YAKEBA donors.

ALF – YKIP funds two major programs of YAKEBA: The HIV/AIDS and Narcotics Awareness Program in the Schools and the Mawar Biru (Blue Rose) Rehabilitation Centre.
