In February 2009, YKIP-ALF funded the installation of an audiologic facility in Sanglah Hospital that provided the facilities and the equipment to enable the clinical testing of hearing. This facility was specially designed to accommodate the testing of children and infants, as well as being appropriate for adults. With the current facility, physicians are now able to expand their audiologic knowledge and improve their testing skills. They are also able to test their patients (of any age) to diagnose the nature of a hearing impairment.

The purpose of the Pediatric Testing Facilities is to provide the physicians with the means and the training to diagnose ear disease and hearing loss in infants and children.

Equipment is provided at a reduced cost by AIM Companies Canada. Volunteer training is supplied by Australian Audiologists.

As of September 2009, 2,066 children have been tested and 145 have been referred to CV Lumina for further diagnostic testing.

This project is made possible through funding by:

Greg Evans and family of Australia for their monthly donations to help offset costs in the Guided Study after school program for first graders.

Chris and Mary Hill of Perth, Australia held a joint Garden Party Fundraiser with ABC Radio and raised funds for the hearing programs.

The Fischer family of Switzerland for sponsoring hearing aids for nine children in the SLBB schools
