Advisory Board


This Board sets the overall objectives of the foundation. Its members are:

Aloysius Purwa (AL) is a MBA graduate and in 2010 began his term as District Governor for Rotary D3400 Indonesia. He is also the Honorary Consul of the Netherlands, Past President of Skal International Bali, Past Chairman of the Bali IATA Agents, Past President of PATA Bali Chapter, a VP of the Bali Tourism Board and the Chairman of ASITA Bali Chapter. Al currently also serves as the Managing Director of KCB Tours & Travel, Managing Director of Cempaka Belimbing Villas, and Director of Aneka Beach Hotel. He is a Rotarian and a Charter Past President of Rotary Club Bali Kuta.

Dr. Anak Agung Asmarajaya educated in Jakarta and Australia, Dr. Asmarajaya is Bali’s leading plastic surgeon and currently is the head of the plastic surgery department at Sanglah Hospital. For several years he has worked with the Cranio Facial Institute of Adelaide, headed by the world renowned Dr. David David. Since 1994 Dr. Asmarajaya has donated his services to perform over 600 cleft and lip palate operations that have been financed by the www.rotarybali.com Rotary Club Bali Nusa Dua. Dr. Asmarajaya is a member of the royal family of Peliatan.

Mark Weingard was the founder of Reset, a very successful broker of interest rate swap derivatives which he sold to ICAP in 2007. He now runs his new consultancy Inmezzo while maintaining an active involvement in the development of ALF charity projects in Bali and Thailand.is the Director of the Annika Linden Foundation.

 

Supervisory Board


This Board supervises and advises the Management Board and may temporarily suspend decisions made by the Management Board at its discretion. The members of this Board are all well respected and senior medical practitioners or Consul’s from foreign embassies in Bali. Its members are:

Dr. Ida Bagus Tjakra Manuaba, was born in Denpasar in 1948. He is married with one daughter. He graduated from the University of Gajah Mada Medical School in 1973. In 1980 he underwent specialist training in Public Health at the University of Hawaii,. He finished his general surgery training 1982 at the University of Hasanuddin, Makassar, and received further training in oncology and surgical oncology in Singapore (Head & Neck Cancer Surgery) in 1983, 1985, 1988, 1993, Free University, Amsterdam, Groningen Cancer Center (Breast Cancer, 1986), and Tokyo Women Medical College (pancreatic cancer, 1984) and National Cancer Hospital Japan (Gastric & Colo-Rectal Cancer) in 1993. He finished his Ph.D. in Molecular Biology in Cancer in 2006. Currently, he is an Associate Professor and Senior Consultant of Surgical Oncology at the Department of General Surgery, School of Medicine, at the University of Udayana in Denpasar and is also the Head of the Surgical Oncology Division, Department of General Surgery, School of Medicine, University of Udayana/RSUP Sanglah Denpasar, Bali. He is a member of the National Board of Study of General Surgery of Indonesia and a member of the International Society of Surgery in Switzerland. During the bomb blast, he was in charge as team leader in treating the victims.

Kurt Heck is a former Silicon Valley software executive with a varied 20+ year career in finance and sales in Latin America and Asia. He’s a Certified Public Accountant and holder of an MBA from the American Graduate School of International Management in Arizona. He also moonlights as a photographer and is the volunteer Managing Director of the Goodwill Group Foundation in Bangkok, Thailand

 

Management Board


This Board carries out the Operation and Management of the Foundation. Its members are:

Rucina Ballinger, MA , an American by birth and Indonesian by naturalization, first came to Bali in 1974 to conduct research on Balinese dance and theatre and has lived here permanently since 1985. Her love for Balinese arts thrust her into the post-bomb YKIP Wayang Kulit Trauma Counseling Project and since December 2003 she has been the Director of YKIP. She has added to her responsibilities for YKIP by becoming the Head of the Management Board in May 2008, replacing David Magson.

Purnama Bulan, also known as Wiwie is an Indonesian and currently serves as the Vice President of Human Relations and Corporate Affairs of PT Mitrais. She has a degree in Business Administration and a Diploma in Public Relations. After the first bomb blast, Wiwie coordinated the donated medical supplies inventory with the assistance of Mitrais staff and has continued her association with YKIP until now.

Treasurer: Djati Siahaan

Djati is a Registered Accountant who graduated from University of Indonesia in Jakarta. He has more than 20 years experience in Non Profit Organization.

 

Management Board Member


Dr. A. Andreas J. Dewanto Dipa (Andre) was born in Kediri, East Java and did all his schooling in Denpasar Bali. He is married to a Balinese and has 3 children. He graduated from the School Medicine of Udayana University in 1987. He is now the Chief of the Foreign Patient Handling Team of Sanglah Hospital. In addition to his duties at the Sanglah Hospital, he is an On Call Doctor /Correspondence doctor to AXA Assistance, Swiss Consulate Bali, Swiss Air Ambulance, Global Assistance, Euro Alarm, German Consulate, Medicall Switzerland, SOS International Copenhagen and Nordic International Copenhagen. He is a Rotarian and during the bomb blast, he tirelessly worked at the Sanglah Hospital helping the victims.

 

YKIP Employees


Rucina Ballinger, MA (Director), an American by birth and Indonesian by naturalization, first came to Bali in 1974 to conduct research on Balinese dance and theatre and has lived here permanently since 1985. Co-author with Wayan Dibia of the book Balinese Dance, Drama and Music: An Introduction to the Performing Arts of Bali (Singapore/Berkeley: Periplus Editions, 2004), Rucina lives in a village near Ubud with her Balinese husband and two teenage sons. With her husband, she runs educational study programs throughout Indonesia. Her love for Balinese arts thrust her into the post-bomb YKIP Wayang Kulit Trauma Counseling Project. She has been the CEO of YKIP since 2003.

Gunawan was born in Parongil in 1973, a small town in Dairi – North Sumatera. Graduated from Universitas Sumatera Utara in 1997, he started his working experience as an Internal Controller for a plantation company and Assistant Lecturer for accounting subjects at the Methodist University in Medan. He continued his career in Jakarta since mid - 1998 in Auditing, Management Accounting, Finance & Administration, and Taxation. He has lived in Bali since February 2001 and worked as Chief Accountant for Quiksilver & Roxy garment manufacturers . Before coming on board as YKIP's Finance and Administration Manager in January 2009, he worked with a renewable energy company as Financial Controller.

Dr. Bulan Trisna Djelantik is a Balinese ENT doctor who is also the COO for the Southeast Asian Society for Sound Hearing. She has been a lecturer in the Medical Faculty of Padjadjaran University in Bandung and is the Coordinator of the Bandung Hearing and Speech Clinic at the Hasan Sadikin Hospital. She set up Yayasan Surya Kanti Child Development Centre and founded the Bandung Ear Care Foundation. YKIP is proud to have Dr. Bulan come on board as the Program Director of BALI HEARS, a YKIP project that is dedicated to improving the lives of the hearing impaired in Bali. Dr. Bulan will be focusing on programs that train and upgrade the skills of teachers who work with the hearing impaired and providing 1,000 earring aids for those in need through the Sound Pound project.

Linda Tidja was born in Bandung in 1983 and grew up in Jakarta, moving to Bali in 2009. She went to Atmajaya University Jakarta in Law. Previously she worked for an export import company in Bali before she join YKIP in November 2010 as executive secretary.

Miranti Rosalina was born and raised in Jakarta. Graduated from Sekolah Tinggi Bahasa Asing (Institute of Foreign Languages) in Jakarta, he started his career with a national NGO, Harvest Community Development as Program Coordinator in 2001 . He spent most of his career in Program and Human Resources and joined YKIP in February 2009 as Field Officer.

Deasy Permatasari Putri graduated from Gadjah Mada University in Jogjakarta. Her interest in social, environmental, and development issues encouraged her to join a number of organizations as a volunteer since high school. She decided to start her career in the non-government organization (NGO) world by joining the World Population Foundation in Jakarta as a Finance and Administration Assistant. In 2008, she moved to Bali to work for Yayasan IDEP as an External Relations officer and starting in October 2009, she became a member of the YKIP family as a Field Officer.

Achmad Fatoni (Toni) was born in 1973 in Denpasar, and graduated from Accounting at Udayana University in 1998. He has worked as accounting staff at a resort hotel in West Bali National Park, and worked with the CRP (Community Recovery Project) after the 2002 Bali bombing as well as with a Jakarta garment trading company. He began with YKIP as the Field and Administrative Officer in January 2010.

Sri Damayanti (Ida) is the field and administrative officer for YKIP-YKIDS. She is a graduate of the Bandung Institute of Technology in West Java. She started her profession as a social worker in 2003 by joining Dian Bhuana Lestari, a non-government organization (NGO) in Bali that focuses on micro enterprise development for poverty alleviation. Working in this area for two and half years encouraged her to contribute more to help with social problems in the community. She gained a better understanding about community development and gender equity when she worked for another NGO, Wahana Kria Putri Foundation, that focuses on women's empowerment. Since July 2008, she has been working with the YKIP team.

Andrey Abad was born in 1979 in a small town in East Java and finished his studies in International Relations at Gadjah Mada University in 2004. His love for the arts brought him into the world of computer graphics and he has worked as a freelance web master and graphic designer since then. He has been doing the graphics and website for YKIP since January 2010.
