The MREC provides students and medical personnel with better access to current medical information since it is equipped with comprehensive facilities, such as online medical references, the latest editions of health-related books, and ten computers with internet access. Special English programs and a fully equipped language lab are on the same premises as the library to assist students and medical staff in upgrading their English skills. The Centre networks with the 32 Institutes of the medical faculty to offer 'on line' consultation facilities for the research needs of the medical faculty.

MREC moved to its temporary quarters in a building just east of the main Medical Faculty in 2007. The permanent move to its new headquarters should happen in 2010.
