Standard Educational Costs in Bali
YKIP is managing two scholarship programs: one is for the children of the bomb victims (called YKIP/KIDS), most of whom go to school in the Badung regency and the other is in Gianyar (called KEMBALI). The costs for Badung are much higher than the ones in Gianyar for a number of reasons: 1) costs are higher in the urban area of Denpasar, where most of the children go to school and a school building fee is included , 2) for YKIP/KIDS additional tutorials are paid for as well as all school costs as opposed to only basic school costs in Gianyar and 3) many of the children in KIDS attend private schools which have higher costs .The school operational costs have been averaged in all cases. There are differences in some of the school supplies due to quality and brand. That is why there is a discrepancy in costs.

Please note that for Primary school, the monthly school fee has been eradicated and for Junior High reduced by Rp 10,000 (paid for by government subsidy) as of July 2005.

Notes: The monthly school fees for Junior High for the KIDS program is lower than for the State schools because there are only two children in Junior High in this program and the school fees are quite low (they go to school in Java).
