Nils Wetterlind of Tropical Homes has been supporting the Wana Seraya Aged Care home in Ketewel for many years now. In October 2005, Tropical Homes enlisted YKIP to be the administrator of their funds for Wana Seraya. Hartanto was brought on board as a YKIP Field Officer to oversee that the 50 residents of this home are getting a healthy lunch (now they are) and that the hired caregivers (both medical and lay) are providing proper treatment. YKIP also brought in a gamelan (musical ensemble) teacher and twice a week the mostly grannies are banging away on the instruments. They now are good enough to perform for their temple ceremony every 210 days! Please see Wana Seraya for more details and photographs.
