The Rotary Club of Manningham

The Rotary Club of Manningham, Victoria, Australia held a fundraiser for YKIP/KIDS (Children's Scholarship Program) on March 27, 2004 and raised US $6,210.90 (AUS $9000).

At the dinner, Jason McCartney, an Australian footballer who was seriously injured in the Kuta bomb blast of October 12, 2002, delivered the keynote presentation. His inspiring address depicting his journey from the Sanglah hospital in Denpasar, Bali back home to Australia and his long and brave fight to recovery, kept the audience in awe.

An auction and raffle were held at the dinner with prizes donated by Inna Putri Bali Hotel, Cottages and Spa in Nusa Dua, Bali and Air Paradise International.

The Manningham Rotarians "hope that the donation to the Bali Children's Fund will in some way lessen the pain and assist with the improved education of the many orphaned Baliense children and those who had a parent incapacitated in the October 2002 bombing."

YKIP would like to extend its warm thanks to the Manningham Rotarians and the sponsors.
