Bali Hotels Association donated 12 huge boxes of hotel uniforms, towels and sheets in 2006 that YKIP has distributed among its partner organizations and many of the Special Needs Schools. A big round of thanks to all the hotels who continue to think of YKIP.

The Bali International School orphanage/ YKIP CAS (Community And Services) group has raised enough funds to support six primary school students (in 2010 already in Junior High School). These students live in the Sanur area and participate in twice monthly music classes with the BIS students.

Brooke Nisbet, who currently live in Japan, has been looking after a hearing impaired child, Putri, since 2005. She has been assisting with hearing aids and speech therapy fees and is now taking care of her school fees and want to ensure that she gets the best education that is available to her. In 2009, Putri began modeling lessons and within a month had already brought home a first place trophy! They also bought the SUSHRUSA PLAYGROUP two brand new computers and a webcam which the teachers are eagerly learning how to incorporate into their classroom.

Carmen Doyle is a schoolteacher at Beechboro PS in Western Australia. Her school has been raising funds annually for our KEMBALI program since 2006. In 2008, they gave us funds to put in a small health clinic and garaden at SD 6 in Singakerta.
CHIS (Cahaya Harapan Indonesia Sejahtera) School for greatly reducing the school fees for Kiola and Jay Juniardi, whose father perished in the Bali bombings of 2
Charlie Lyon (a fifth grader at Tanglin Trust School in Singapore) on his own initiative in 2006, wanted to support a charity and chose YKIP-YKIDS. In 2007-2008 they donated Sing $4,373 and in 2008-2009 Sing $3,849. They obtain these funds by selling postcards, paintings, washing cars, etc. The students in Charlie’s class made a CD in 2009 with the children of Tanglin singing commercial as well as ORIGINAL songs they have composed and used that as a fundraising scheme. They also have beaded bracelets made her in Kuta that they sell in Singapore (and they gave us two, which we proudly wear!)
COURTS’ volunteers have been working with since 2003 to assist the children of the bomb victims in the YKIP-YKIDS program. They provide not only their time, but also donate in – kind goods as prizes for the children at the Gathering Parties. Some of these children are now going into college. To help these college students, COURTS will offer them laptops at a 50% discount.
THE DANCE COMPANY’S FANTASIA, May 31st, 2008 brought 109 dancers from age 2 – 52 onto the stage for the annual recital for The Dance Company (a Balibased dance school in Kuta). Five percent of the proceeds went to the KEMBALI scholarship program and TDC will be teaching dance in one of the Kuta schools for free. Dino Hodge, an Australian audiologist has been helping our Hearing Program since 2007. He assists with training the staff at LUMINA and Sanglah Hospital.

EAT, PRAY, LOVE and Syzygy Productions of Jakarta donated an immense amount of equipment, office supplies and set props from the filming of Eat, Pray, Love that was done in Bali in October-November 2009. Couches, tables, air conditioners, clothing and more was distributed to our charity partners.
Ed Balma of the Drum Factory in Ubud for a drum workshop he sponsored for our KEMBALI children as well as a number of marraccas which we have given to the SLBB (Schools for the Hearing Impaired).
Eddie Goldstein is a Space Science Educator from the Denver Musuem of Natural History as well as a magician. In July 2009 he brought his magic hat of tricks to two schools in Bali (SD 12 Sanur and SD 2 Abianbase, Kapal) to entertain the troops. The kids (and teachers) whooped with laughter at the “need no translation” antics of this Space Man.
