Mitrais (www.mitrais.com) Mitrais has had many staff and family volunteering their services and has provided Computers, Networking equipment and Programming expertise as well as logistical support and warehousing for the medical supplies donated by overseas organizations. Mitrais is providing IT Services, this web site, office space and accounting services to YKIP.

Mitrais, developer of K-MS - a hospital information system targeted for corporate hospitals in capital intensive industries, has developed a Clinical Information System for the YRS Clinic. Mitrais has been involved in supporting YKIP activities from the onset. The implementation of the system will enable YRS staffs to better manage the medical and clinical information required in providing better health services to the local community.

Peter Neely is a long time explorer of the Indonesian Archipelago who supports YKIP through his website and extensive list of contacts within the international surfing community. Written by Peter Neely.

The AudioScreener is a portable unit that will evaluate both Otoacoustic Emissions (OAE's) and Auditory Brainstem Responses (ABR'S or BERA). It is used in the field to evaluate the health and performance of the cochlea. Babies that pass this screening test are 99% sure to have normal hearing. Babies that do not pass this screening test will need to be re-screened once again, then if this screening also fails they will have to have a full audiologic evaluation with the clinical ABR unit.

This testing ability is very useful because it can be done on newborn babies at the hospital or clinic which makes early identification of hearing loss very easy. It is easy to operate, which allows for it to be used by a variety of personnel and it is very small and easy to take from one place to another.

VIASYS Healthcare has very generously donated two of these units to the YKIP/Lumina Hearing Project for children. THANK-YOU VIASYS!!
